tautología

Tautology is a kind of pleonasm, a reiteration where a redundancy has no new flux of information; like writing "braille" in Braille, or looking for the word "dictionary" in the dictionary. Playing with tautology often results in absurdity, in a logical trap; I like to trap sense and meaning in language.
I look to find conceptual resources where meaning always comes back to the starting point. I am interested in making use of tautology in an absurd way but also within a redundancy that emphasizes an inescapable immanence, that, for me, is death.

Handjob

Handjob speaks of a specific hand's action and furthermore, an action that refers to a "job" or "work". I enjoyed playing with the tautology of proposing a piece made and worked by hand with the juxtaposition of the word "handjob". The word for me has a masculine and firm nuance and I find it amusing that it is reserved to a hand's sexual action.

Blanco sobre blanco (White over white) is a tautological series that refers to Malevich's piece.
